FFxi PlayOnline won't install

When trying to install Final Fantasy XI I'm requested to install
PlayOnline first.
However when i insert the PlayOnline CD in order to install it winXP
(spit) it show's up as a movie disk, which none of my media players
are able to play, and nothing will install, or there is nothing to
install.
The folder structure on the disk runs as below

|-EXT -SCANDATA.DAT
|
|-MPEG2 -AVSEQ01.MPG
|
|-SEGMENT - *empty*
|
|-SVCD-|-ENTRIES.SVD
|-INFO.SVD
|-LOT.SVD
|-PSD.SVD
|-SEARCH.DAT
|-TRACKS.SVD

Is this a winXP (spit) problem?
Or should I take the game back?

Yup it's a video CD that's why it won't install, some DVD software should be
able to play the MPG file though.
