Feature "For Follow UP" does not show the messages from the "additional Mailboxes"

P

Paul E. Gruendler

At work I am using Outlook 2003 on an MS Exchange Server. My profile does
show my account and the included two additional mailboxes. These are Group
MBX for different purposes.
The feature Flagged Messages does work within my Mailbox. It shows me fast
all flagged mails and the folder where the are located.

The same feature does not work within the other mailbox. It shows the number
of flagged messages but not the messages itself. When I flag a new message
the counter increases, when I remove the flag it decreases, but still it
does not show the messages. Any idea how to fix it?

Kind regards paul e.gruendler, Switzerland

Flags only pop up messages in the default mailbox. They will only turn red
in non-default mailboxes.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Paul E. Gruendler asked:

Thanks for you fast answer. It was not exact what I am looking for. There
are three Favorite Folders in my profile.
But only the one from the default Mbx work as designed. The others in
"Search Folders" show only the number of flagged mails, but not the mails
itself.
Or should I maybe open each account in a seperate window?

Kind regards paul e.gruendler, Switzerland

The Search Folders only work in the mailbox where they are located - you'll
need to create one for the secondary mailboxes to see the flags in that
mailbox.

If you have full permission on the mailbox and can see every folder, go to
the Folder list (Ctrl+6) and look at the folders in the mailbox - the last
should be search folders and it has it's own follow up folder. Right click
and add the folder to the Favorites list...

Hi Diane
I have full permission on this mailbox. When I use another profile with only
this mailbox the search folder works like he should. Only when I am in my
primary mailbox and have the second one added as additional mailbox the same
search folder does not show the content only the counter of the flagged
mails.
If microsoft thinks it should work like this I can live with it. So when I
am realy like to find the messages I will switch to the other mailbox and
the flagged mails show up as I like.
Kind regard for your help
Paul.

Where are you seeing the count? When you click on the folder, you should see
the contents, unless a view is hiding the messages.

The counter is located in the search folders of the additional mailbox. If I
flag a msg in this box the counter increases the counter of my default
profile box stays as it was. When I go to for follow up by the add. box it
shows one more item NONE as it had before.

If the counter tells me (6) I see six rows with "none" in the Recieved all
the other fields are not filled.
If you allow it to me I can send you a powerpoint.

If you select one of the rows, does it display in preview? (or open it if
you don't use preview)

Try this - click on Arrange By at the top of the message list and choose
Custom... - then Reset Current View.
