Desktop alert for Additional Mailbox

My Outlook 2003 have an additional mailbox attached. I can set Desktop alert
to show up on my default mailbox but I can't set desktop alert on additional
mail box. Does anyone have a trick to make it work.

I use Exchange 2003 server

As far as I know rules and alerts will only work with the default mailbox
and not additional mailboxes.
