FAXING FROM XP ERROR MESSAGE

FOLLOWING INSTALLATION, MY FAXES SIT IN THE OUTBOX. ERROR MESSAGE WHEN
SENDING SAYS SOMETHING LIKE "PHONE LINE ALREADY IN USE OR NOT CONNECTED". I
HAVE A DSL LINE SET UP. DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS ISN'T WORKING.
HELPFUL ADVICE?

hi,

check the filters and physical connections..it could be one or more
filters are faulty.
check all connections and filters again!!

i'm afraid it is not that. everything else is working fine. all connections
fine. my sister is receiving the same error message on her computer. is
there a modem compatibility issue with this fax function of xp?
