Fax sending from MS fax console

-- When I try to send a fax an error message pops up

"fax server information cannot be retrieved"

any suggestions why this is happening and how it can be corrected to allow
me to send faxes.

Not without at least some information. At a minimum you need to provide:
1. How you installed the fax service and any error messages you received
along the way.
2. Steps used to send a fax.
3. Whether you are using a modem from the WHCL
4. Whether fax ever worked, and if so what steps were used to break it.
Essentially, just pretend we can't read your mind when you post.
