Fax routing

R

Rich

I'm using Windows Server 2003's fax service program but
cannot configure it to route faxes to a specified folder
on the network. I get the following dialog box after I
select a folder: "The Fax Service cannot access the
folder specified." The permissions for the folder allow
full control for everyone, users and administrators. Any
suggestions that might help me get the routing to work?

Fax Service in Windows Server 2003 runs under the "Network Service" account.
So the folder to which you want to route the incoming faxes should have
appropriate permissions for the Network Service. And one more point is that
you can route to remote folders by using the network paths alone
(\\<machinename>\<foldername>) and cannot use mapped network drives for
routing to remote folders.
