Fax Modem set up

How do you set a Fax Modem up to only answer a call in Fax Mode ??? Modem
currently picks up call in data mode and need to change this to receive
faxes.
 
What is the modem you are using ? What's is the Fax software?
Are you using Windows Fax service that comes with the OS ? If yes, this is
unlikely to happen.

The modem is an Aztech Fax modem. Was just trying to set-up the Windows
2000 Server Fax service but the modem answers and looks only for a data
connection.

The modem answers the call, goes thru the data tones, then after about a
minute and a half, returns with a Reception Error

Any Ideas ???
