FAX Error Message

When I open FAX Console and try to start a new FAX, the following error
messge appears: "fxssend.exe - Bad Image: The application or DLL
C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\FXSRES.dll is not a valid Windows
image. Please check this against your installation diskette."
Can some kind person walk me through how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Only thing I can think of would to run SFC /SCANNOW. Make sure to have you
installation disk on hand, and if it isn't already w/SP2, then first make a
slipstreamed disk:
http://www.helpwithwindows.com/WindowsXP/winxp-sp2-bootcd.html

Or, run a Repair Install, with the same requirement as above in re the
slipstreamed disk.

However, as this is reported by so many people, I doubt the file is actually
corrupt, and I can't find anything more than you've found on the subject. If
a week goes by with no answer here, post it again. Don't try to keep this
thread alive by posting yet another plea, as that doesn't work as well for
attracting attention.

Hmmm... Might be worth your while to perform a formal malware scan, just to
be sure. See:
www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm

Be sure to go through ALL of the procedures.
