Error Messages

Am getting 3 error messages, perhaps related.

1. Windows media player 10: 800700C1; %1 is not a valid Win32 hub. It Will
not play.

2. The application or DLL C:\Windows\System32\DCIMAN32.dll is not a valid
Windows image.Please check this against your installation diskette.

3. The application or Dll
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\mscorwks.dll is not a valid
windows image.Please check this against your installation diskette. Have also
seen in box headed hpqthb08.exe - Bad Image. Thanks for any help.

You don't say what version of Windows and Media Player you are running.
If it's an older version, just try reinstalling MP from the installation
disk. That should fix it.

However, if you still get the error message, then you are seeing one of
the effects of Digital Rights Management (DRM.) Many movies and songs
these days refuse to play on versions on MP that are not DRM-enabled.
That will increase, unless you persuade your Congress person or Senator
to revise the DRM act.

Or you could get the latest version of MP from Microsoft. It's a free
download, but AFAIK only works with Win2000/XP. OTOH, it sometimes
refuses to play files that don't have a DRM signature in them....

Or you could get one of the alternatives to MP, some of which are
illegal in the USA because they bypass DRM....

Fun and games, eh?
