Hi I'm new to the group and I have the following problem.

When I go to Favorites it show me everything in my
c:\windows directory and not my Favorites directory.

How do I change the Favorites view to show the correct
directory?

Thanks for any help!

Mud

You can change the value of Favorites in the Registry in these
two keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders

Thanks Alan for your help!

I did change though two locations you suggested to the
correct directory, but after I close regedit down and
tried IE 6 it when and change them back to the wrong
directory again. Any idea why IE 6 changed them back and
how can I keep them from changing to the wrong directory
again?

Thanks again!
Mud

Are you saying the Registry entries changed again?
No idea what is changing them. I doubt it is IE6.
You might check to see if the is an equivalent key in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE but I suspect some outside influence.
Have you done an up to date virus check?
Do you use any spyware checkers, e.g.
Ad-Aware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
(get updates immediately after installation)

Alan Thanks for the Reply,

Yes the registry changed again.

I did run Norton anti-virus program and it found the
java.nocheat virus. Which it removed but now it looks
like my IE6 registry items have been changed. I don't
know how to change them all back to the way they were.

My Norton Anti-virus program I thought was working but, I
guess it wasn't.

Any Idea on how to change the IE6 Registry Items back to
the way should be?

Thanks

Mud
