Favorites Dissappear!

With Internet Explorer 6 on Windows 2000, on my main user account my
favorites have suddenly disappeared from IE6. However,
%%USERPROFILE%%\Favorites exists - all my favorites are still there!

I've followed the instructions on this article:

The first two registry keys are correct, but these keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\Shell
folders
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\User
Shell folders

point to C:\WINNT\Favorites.

But whenever I correct them, next time I start IE6 they go back to
C:\WINNT\Favorites.

Yep, that did it!

A REG_SZ value type needed to be REG_EXPAND_SZ.

Bad news is, the Favorites order is now all alphabetical and I need to
reorganize it all. Oh, well, I wasn't doing anything tomorrow anyway...

Ah, better yet, I restored NTUSER.DAT from a recent checkpoint created from
SystemSuite 6.

Favorites order as before, harmony with the universe restored,
Ommmmmmmmm.....
