Favorites Disappeared

Installed earthlink two days ago. Favorites disappeared.
Animated Wizard showed up out of word on desktop also.
Can I get favorites back. Said no to Earthlink questions
to add favorities.

Earthlink has changed the location of your favorites and you can
change it back to the original Favorites folder, which should still
exist.
Earthlink is the only cause I am aware of where an update in the last
few months may cause the Favorites to be set to C:\WINDOWS\Application
Data\Earthlink...\Favorites

You can change the value of Favorites in the Registry in these
two keys: (ignore the second if the value is not there)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders
