Fast user switching no longer available

I am experiencing that fast user switching is not working any more.
When I click on the green icon (switch user) just nothing happens at
all.

I checked in user accounts and detected that fast user switching was
unchecked. I checked the option and left the dialogue. However - even
after re-boot - fast user switching is still not working.

When I opened the dialogue again, I detected that the checkbox was
unchecked again. I could check it (it is not disabled or gray) but as
soon as I leave the dialog and return it is unchecked again.

I am using an adminstrator account with Windows XP Home SP1. I also
checked in the registry. The key AllowMultipleTSSessions is set to 1 (
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\
CurrentVersion\Winlogon )but the fast user switching is just not
working.

Any hints?

Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately your hint just sets the
registry key of AllowMultipleTSSessions to 1 - but this is already the
case on my machine - see my original append ... - the problem cause
must be something different

Hi,

Go to Start/Run and type in: services.msc.
Scroll down to Terminal Services and make sure it is Started.

Path to executable: C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs

Also under Log, verify that your profile is enabled: Log on/Hardware
Profile/Enabled.

Kelly,
your hint regarding Terminal Services solved my problem. They were
deactived. I changed the default to automatic which resolved the
problem.
