Recently, I have had a "pop-up" every time I load the
internet asking to install a Mircosoft XP Professional
program. The first thing I did was to try a re-install
what it was asking for from the Windows XP cd. It said
it couldn't find the correct files. I have also searched
my computer for the correct files. I have loaded all the
recent updates. I have scanned my system for adware
programs and deleted them. This problem has been
occuring for over a week. Its the most persistent "pop
up" I've every seen, trying to load everytime a try to
browse from one internet page to the next. How do I make
it go away?

Thanks,
Adam

What, _exactly_, does this "pop-up" say?

It says that it is trying to configure Windows XP
Professional. Then it loads to a page asking for a CD-
ROM or browse to find the file.
What do you think?

It says that its looking for a file called 'Proret.msi'.
Does that help?

Are you sure it's asking for the _Windows_ XP CD and not the
_Office_ XP CD? Proret.msi is an Office component that might need to
be installed to each user profile. What happens when you insert the
CD and let the installation finish?
