failure to upload from camera

I have an olympus c-3000 zoom and I installed the software
that came with the camera.I also installed a patch
available from olympus for xp.
I go through the steps to upload the pics from the camera
and everytime I turn the camera on xp says it has found
new hardware and wants me to install it again.I have
uninstalled the camera software and re-installed several
times but I always get the same results and camedia
software won't let me upload the pics to the computer.
I even tried re-installing xp.No luck.
I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Hi,

The easiest way nowadays is to get a flash memory card reader for your type
of memory that your camera uses.
These flash card readers are typically USB, and all you do is plug it in to
your computer, and then take the memory card out of your camera and then
just plug it into the flash reader. Your memory card will then show up like
a hard drive in your My Computer, and then you can copy the photos over to
your computer.
