Failure to install a windows update driver

Why is it that I try to download and install the "Crystal
Semiconductor multimedia software update, dated January
20, 2003" that it fails everytime. I am running windows
xp and it is always scanned that I need this driver.

Do you have sound? If you do, then just ignore the driver update from
Windows Update. The best place to get driver updates is from the
hardware mftr. - in your case you probably have onboard sound. But if
your sound ain't broke, don't fix it.
