Failure on Importing User Data

After: uninstalling Office 2003, cleaning out local settings
directories, installing Office 2007 professional...
Outlook continually stops on 'Importing User Data'. I have recreated a
profile, but I still get the same error. I have reinstalled Office 2007
a number of times, but to no avail. Running XP with sp2. Does anybody
have any ideas/fixes? Most of my team has already migrating to 2007, I
am the only one with this issue. I have tried the installer with and
without my .pst, that was created with Outlook 2003.

FIX: not only uninstall MS Office, but clear out all local settings/app
settings, but ALSO delete all registry settings. I am not suggesting
that anyone else do this, but it was the only way that I could get
Outlook 2007 to get past this error.

Do not import if your data is already in a PST. You will lose data and
there's no need when you can simply open the PST.

I was not importing, running outlook for first time tried to import!!!
In fact, I removed the pst in trying to solve this problem.
