Failed to query TCP/IP settings

I get a failed to query tcp/ip settings of the connection
when I try to repair my LAN connection.

When I run ipconfig I get an internal error - The System
cannot find the file specified.

All this happened after removing spyware, etc.

As you would expect, now I can't access the Internet or
the network.

I've got XP Home Edition which I've already repaired.

Bob:
When the spyware was removed from your system, it obviously left behind a
corrupted TCP/IP stack. This is easy to repair. Obtain a free copy of
WinSockFix from the Internet, run the program, and reboot. Everything will
work fine.
