Fade effect very slow when displaying presentation in viewer

Hi to all!

I've made a kiosk presentation with PowerPoint and am running it on a laptop
with PowerPoint Viewer. The problem is that the fade effect between slides
looks rather like a 5fps slide show than smooth transition. Is there anything
I can do.

- The presentation runs fine on my office PC (Core 2 Duo)
- The computer dipslaying the file is a X2/2g ram/NVidia graphics

Things I've checked:
- In PowerPoint "use hardware acceleration" is on
- The laptop has all the latest drivers

Thanks in advance

Instead of using the Fade Smoothly transition do this.

Slide *1* - Copy image.
Slide *2* - Set to No Transistion. Paste image. Animate image to exit - Fade
Out.

This effect will appear to be a smooth transition between slides.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll certainly try to adobt some of the hints
given in "How to set graphics hardware acceleration back" (the laptop runs
Vista).

As for animating single images. Otherwise this would propably be fine, but
the presentation is actually navigated from a touchscreen display which also
allows the user to move "backwards" hence having only a fading out animation
will no cut the cheese.

I've disabled all transitions and animations for now. The show still looks
great ;)

Thanks again

Ari
