Very weird situation. Anyone know a solution other than a total rebuild?
When I boot or reboot normally, the computer seems to hang, but actually it
isn't. If I let it set for a long time (well over an hour, probably closer to
two), it will eventually boot.
If I go to a previous restore point, via a Safe Boot, but selecting that I
want to use a restore point, it boots up much faster.
I can make a new restore point, reboot, and it will take forever to boot up.
I can hit reset while I'm waiting; hit F8 to select Safe Boot, select the
restore point I just made, and it will boot up fine.
Selecting to go boot from the last previous good setting after hitting F8
also takes a long time to boot up.
I've run several spyware programs, diagnostic programs, and registry
cleaners. Nothing is helping.
