Hi, not sure if this should go on General or Hardware. I
installed an external data storage mobile disk via USB.
Installation went smoothly and the device is "working
properly" according to Windows Device Manager but I don't
see the new drive in "My Computer". I think the drive was
originally formatted for Linux. Is there any way to
reformat without reinstalling the drive on a "traditional
PC"?

Thank you very much for your help
Massimo

Hi Massimo,

Right-click "My Computer", select manage.

You can use this tool to repartition the drive according to your liking.
Until you partition it using file system accessibile by WinXP (FAT32 or
NTFS), you will not see the drive in Windows Explorer. Once properly
partitioned, you will need to format it before it will be usable.

Please note, that if there are files on that drive that you wish to save,
you need to do this from the Linux system is was previously on before doing
the above operations. Afterwards, all data there will be lost.
