Exporting Movie Maker Projects to other software?

Is there any plugins/software which will allow Movie Maker projects to be
imported into another editing progoram?

I have played around with MM for a small projects, but have recently created
a 30min film, because I wanted to use the excellent automovie tool. The
problem is that it refuses to create a movie file (be it save to DV camera,
AVI file etc) - i.e it creates 98% of the file and then tells me I don't have
enough space/files are incorrect etc (which is not the case). I have tried
breaking the file into two smalled projects and followed much of the advice
which has been posted on sites about registering files. I've tried exporting
the file on different machines and still haven't solved what looks like a
common problem.

Therefore, I was hoping that it might be possible to take the project file
and use another edit program to render the movie.

Hello,

The problem you describe can be caused by some odd things...here are a list
of possible causes

JPeg or JPG This type of file is like AVI videos...its a container for
several differing methods. I have still not discovered a good rule for
determining which will cause a failure and which will not as their seems to
be rather more to it than just the presence of the file itself. The easy
rout is to convert them to BMP files

MPEG or MPG. these file types are a problem ALL of the time...best to
convert them to AVI

MP3 A very good compressed audio format...but not where Movie Maker is
concerned...a rough guess would be that they work ok for maybe 1 in 10
projects...its much easier to convert them to WAV files and remove the
problem completely

An empty Title....This happened to me and it took ages to find it because
the project was large and the title was tiny (time wise) I had managed to
add a title with just one space character and nothing else

So if your project has any of these files I would strongly recommend you
change them as suggested above
