Hi all,

I exported my Outlook .pst file and can't seem to import it to Outlook on a
new laptop. The .pst file was exported from an English language Office to a
Dutch-language Office. Is that what's causing the problem?

Thanks,
Aaron.

With a PST it's better to use the file > open method than import. It could be
a language issue, do you have the language pack?

How did you transfer it?
What version of Outlook are you using?
Why export/import in the first place to the same file format? Transfer the
original and connect to it by File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

It's not a language issue; I'm Dutch too ;-)

Hi, I exported it to my desktop c drive by way of the import / export
command. I then burned it onto a disc, inserted the disc into the laptop and
dragged the file onto the laptop's destop. I then tried importing it. Didn't
work.

I've since tried your suggestion of file - open - Outlook data file, but I
get an error message saying the file is not a personal folders file.

I am trying to transfer emails from an Outlook 2002 (English version) to an
Outlook 2002 (Dutch version).

Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

Cheers,
Aaron.

Not unusual. The first thing you did wrong was export the PST. Did you
close Outlook before burning it to the CD? After copying it from the CD to
the desktop, did you remove the read-only attribute?
