Just wondering why I keep getting a popup prompting me to upgrade to IE 6.1?
I'm already running XP service pack 2 and if I try to upgrade my browser,
the system hangs.

Also, on some websites I visit, the web page will load and the system starts
searching for Windows Office 2000 programs, I then get a prompt telling me
the files weren't found. Once I click the 'OK' button, I get a bunch of pop
up ads.

Any suggestions advice appreciated.

Be well.

You have got hit by some type of spywares.

Run:

AD Aware SE
Spybot: Search and Destroy
CWShredder
Microosft AntiSpyware

and look for info on stopping the Messenger service.

Thanks for the reply Yves...

I have run all but the CWShredder in conjunction with McAfee, my first issue
with the pop-ups has been cured, the computer stills asks for the Windows
Office 2000 disks though, sometimes 7 or 8 times while on a single web page!
The exact message I get in the prompt is ''Preparing To Load Windows Office
2000, please wait''. It then prompts me to insert the Office 2000 disk and
click ok or cancel...if I hit cancel, the whole routine starts over and over
again until I finally close that particular web page. Grrrrrr!!!

Be well...
