Every time I boot my computer a Windows Explorer screen opens to the same
location. This is not in my startup folder. How do I prevent it from
opening? Where do I look to stop the startup process of this folder.

The explorer window that keeps opening is c:\program files\intuit\quickbooks.
We had a QB printer problem and I was doing research, but did not tweak any
QB settings that I am aware of.

Here are a few posted suggestions I found:

Try this: Control Panel/Folder Options/View tab, uncheck the line
"restore previous folder windows at logon". Click apply, OK, do not
reboot yet.

Run msconfig, on the general tab select the diagnostic mode. Click
apply, OK and reboot at prompted.

The folder should not show up now. Rerun msconfig, put the system back
in normal mode. Click apply, OK and reboot once more. Does this help?

Look at this article which shows where the folder could be started. If
a registry entry or the Startup folder in the Start menu references the
folder, it will be started.

hth,

I tried Unchecking the line "restore previous folder windows at logon"
(actually it wasn't checked to begin with) and starting in diagnostic mode.
The window opened in diagnostic mode also. So no, this didn't work either.

I visted the two sites you suggested and didn't see anything that I thought
was related to this start item. Oh well, I tried. I can always close the
window. Thanks for your help
