Explorer save List View and Status bar

With XP Pro how do you get Explorer to save the List View for all folders?

How do you stop the Status bar from becoming de-selected.

I never de-select the Status bar and nobody else uses this computer.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Ramesh and Will thanks ever so much.
It was the heavier duty fix I needed as I had tried the Windows settings.
I think I will go for the 8,000 settings as I use Explorer so much everyday.

Many thanks again, sincerely appreciated.

Thanks, Alex - that setting has to be enabled as well.

After you have set List View and enabled the Status Bar go to Tools>Folder Options>View and click on 'Apply to All Folders'. Re-start Windows Explorer.

You also need to be sure that the box 'remember each folder's view
settings' is checked there
