explorer restarts my com

at times my com will restart if i close explorer.Sometimes when i dont close it too.What would be causing this to happen?windows xp.

Go to Control Panel | Performance and Maintenance | System | Advanced tab.
In the Startup and Recovery section click Settings.
Uncheck Automatically restart.

This should allow you to see the blue screen when it produces a fatal error.
Write down what it says and post that.
