hi all

i am a reasonably advanced computer techy so enjoy the odd bit of fiddling
around and tweaking my OS. So the other day, I decided I'd change the icon
for file folders on my windows XP machine, so that everytime i go into the
hard drive root, id get nice shiny icons instead of the usual windows folder
icons.

anyway, by doing this, I have somehow changed the way explorer handles
files. everytime i double click a drive or a folder, it'll open up in a
seperate window, leaving the original folder still open in the background and
I want it so that when I open the folder, to open it in the original window.

I'm guessin that I have messed up one of the parameters or syntaxes in
explorer command. I have double checked that in folder options, the open
folder in same window is selected and it is.

rather confused, any help would be great.

thanks

Why this would change, I can't say, but there's an option in Folder
Options, View tab, to "Launch folder windows in a separate process".
Perhaps this is checked..
