Explorer forgets settings

On Windows NT it was possible to close an Explorer Windows and the next
time I started up the settings of how to display the entries of a folder
where the same as the last times. On Windows 2000 every time I start up
Explorer I have the big Icons on the right side (instead of "Details"
like I wish). How can I let Windows remember this?

Try pressing CTRL as you close the window.
