explorer.exe not responding on Win2k user account.

My regular User no longer works. It starts to load and explorer.exe hangs.
The only thing I can do is open Task Manager.
My other user, "Administrator", works fine (Thank God). (Currently logged in
now). The problem seems to be just associated with the other user login.
Ok, I get more frustrated with Microsoft everyday. My system was working
fine and I thought I would check for updates. When the update scanned, it
told me that I needed ".NET 1.1 update" and that I needed the "GDI+<whatever>
update".
I clicked ok and it updated. When the system rebooted, my regular user login
(I was using during the update), no longer works.
I have Norton AV and Firewall installed, so I don't believe it's a virus or
AdWare (Unless I picked it up from the MS Update Page).
Any ideas on repairing my regular user account, because it has all my
current settings and configuration (mail, etc..) ??

When you go to task manager in the damages account can you see in the
processes if explorer.exe is running ? If it is can oyu stop it then go
file-->run and type in explorer.exe. If it's not running then what happens
if you just do the last step ?
