explorer.exe needs to restart error

Gerry, apologies.

Both these errors are generated by the beta version.

The stable version I previously used failed and shutdown but did not
generate recordable errors.

The module cvirte.dll is a module of the VWS program and I am pursuing this
error with their supprt forum.

nass,
I understand your point about beta versions. This software developes
regularly in beta and is used that way by many of its users. I tried the
beta version as a test and intend to revert to the stable version if
necessary. Both versions however are shutting down. It is only the beta
version that provides an error report.

The cvirte.dll module is a module of the VWS software and I will pursue this
with the VWS support forum.

Hi Steve,
First try to search the directories for the cvirte.dll file and Note the
Date and version of each. If you have multiple version delete all but leave
the latest version ( please note down the location where you will delete the
old version, you will may need to copy and paste the latest version to these
places/directories).
or you can re-regiter this dll by this command:
regsvr32 cvirte.dll click [OK] and reboot the system.

Another is to avoid running a Beta Product on your productive machine,
unless you are a tester, you don't have/need to run a Beta product at all,
Microsoft always worn against such a thing when they issue a Beta version of
their product.
If the software company has a Stable version why not Opt to get it as you
will have full support and compatible version!.
Does this App need to run on a specific .Net framework and need to be
downloaded from Ms site?.
Best if you contact the Help& Support for ambientweather as they will be
happy to know and help out, it is stated on the link above after performing
the steps mentioned on their troubleshooting procedure.
HTH.
