explorer.exe crashing

S

Steph

Hi!

On some computers, in our lab, when somebody tries to
open an .html or .xml file explorer.exe crashes (memory
cannot be read or explorer.exe has generated errors and
will be closed...).

It's not a big, complicated html file and all updates for
IE6 are installed.

Thanks

Steph,
Those type error messages are usually parasite related.

Since the parasites were cleared, there are fewer
crashes. But, still it happens.

Steph,
All parasites were cleared by Ad-Aware!"
Please don't believe that! ... I'm not knocking AWW,
but neither them or SpyBot can no longer "completely"
remove these parasites. This is due to new *daily* threats
and random generated filenames by many new parasites.

Did you follow-up with HijackThis as suggested on the link
I posted previously? If so, who did you sign on as, and I'll
have a look ........
FYI: AWW also has a HijackThis section on their Forum.
