Explorer.exe - Application Error - Windows XP SP2 - I E 6

The following Explorer.exe Application Errors have occurred recently at the
completion of backing up My Pictures folder to CD-RW and CD-R, as well as at
the start of clicking a shortcut to a video game installed on my hard drive
from a CD:

The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred in the
application at location 0x7c81eb33.

Explorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will
need to restart the program.

DrWatson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I would appreciate any recommendations concerning this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bev,

Check that you have not deleted any folders when you did your backup. It
appears that explorer.exe cannot find the start-up folder or the folder
refered to in your games shortcut.

You can specify the folder for explorer.exe to navigate to when it starts by
choosing the Start>Run menu and entering explorer.exe c:\ ... this will
open the windows explorer in your c:\ folder. If this does not work then
restore your backup that you made as it appears you have removed your
Documents folder (and so explorer.exe can't display it (enum) in the folders
side bar and spits the dummy).

Regards.
