Hello all,

I have a clean install of Windows XP Pro on a Tosh Tecra notebook.

Ever since I have had this notebook, even after a clean install, eventually
after doing some work Explorer crashes. The operating system recovers this,
bit I lose all my system tray icons.

Any ideas? I guess is might be some incompatiable software, such as MS
Exchange Administrator 5.5, but even so, is there a way of recovering icons
without the need for a reboot?

TIA

Jim

Hi!Jim!
you must look at the Event Viewer for application error logs.
Control panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer.

And regarding your System Tray Icons disappearing issue:-

please look at:-

"Why don't my Notification Area icons show or why do they disappear?"

Thanks

That doesn't help so much....I have already been trawling through there. I
get this error:

Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106, faulting module
unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at

The MS knowledgebase doesn't help.

Cheers

Jim
