exchange syncing

I would like to keep current with my calendar when on the
road. If I take my laptop, what is the best method to
connect to my exchange server with my outlook calendar and
to recieve updates when not connected to my server?

Set your laptop up with offline folders. The details vary with your version of Outlook.
