Exchange server name will automatically change?

I'm installing a new Exchange 2003 server soon and migrating all of my
mailboxes\settings from an Exchange 2000 server.

Since I can't rename the new server to that of the old without creating
heaps of problems, I've just decided to go ahead and use a new server name.

The question I have is will the Outlook clients (A mix of Outlook 2000 and
2003) automatically adjust to the new server name, or will I have to manually
go around and change the server on every client?

I read on some web forum that this will happen automatically, but I can't
find any info to back that up.

Thanks in advance!

They can change if you do a migration correctly and the old server and new
one
are up at the same time. You need a backup plan. Use Outlook Profiler to
manage
your profiles with.

We had to manually change the clients.
