Excel

When I double click on an .xls file Excel opens but the
file does not open, the only way I can open a file is to
click on file and the open and navigate to the file I
wish to open.

Does any one have any idears

Sometimes one of these works:

Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it)

--- or ---

Close Excel and
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /unregserver
then
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /regserver

The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's
factory defaults.
