Excel crashes when using 'type a question for help'

I have Office 2002. If I type a question in the 'type a
question for help' box Excel crashes. I have downloaded
the newest updates. Ideas?

This control is actually a command bar and by that it may be corrupt. Try
looking (it may be hidden) for a file called Excel.xlb (It could have a
different name but will have an .xlb extension). Move it from it's current
location and restart Excel. If it is OK now you can delete the file, if not
then replace the original in it original location. (It is Excel's toolbar
customisation file. Excel will make a new one although any customisations
you have made will be lost)
