excel crashes using form modal or non modal

hi all
i have built a database of used furniture and originaly i just used the
spreadsheet for input but i found that other users abused this sytem and got
at data and deleted or altered it so i used a custom built form that did
everything i required
the file in total is 4.5mb
now this all worked great for about 2 days when cells that were used to
calculate started being deleted ...i found that the text boxes that were
pionted to these cell were deleting the formulas i did a work around and put
cell formula macros on the sheet to replace the macos as they went missing
but then a new problem came to light ...excel would crash for no apparent
reason and when it recovered with errors the macro modules and the form
were gone the error woud say vba project and macro modules were lost this
happens if you click on any activex control on the sheet or if a macro is
used to move data I.E insert a date or copy paste function pretty much
anything at all will crash the program
i have even weeded out non essential items the file was 4.5 and i got it
down to 900k still happens though
to date this happens in
excel 2000 reinstalled 2 times and updated
excel 2003 reinstalled 4 times and updated
excel xp reinstalled 2 times and updated
excel 2007 reinstalled 2 times
ive used
win 2000
win xp
win vista
makes absolutly no difference

one thing i have found
it crashes more often on an intel 2.6 than on my amd 3.2
so any idea's

Sounds like your workbook is corrupted.

well i took your advice and the solution at dailydoseofexcel.com
seems to have done the trick...i have run the file now for 4 hours without a
hitch which is 3hours and 50minutes longer than before such a silly reason to
cause so much anguish and consternation..any way i will give it another day
or so and i will get back with any updates or failures

i cant thank you enough mate your advice has saved me a lot of work

Maybe your excel file is corrupt or something. You can try a popular
Excel file recovery tool called Advanced Excel Repair to repair your
