Excel 2007: Sharing issue saving files

Just bought Office Pro 2007 full version. Converting school bus route sheets
from 2003/XP Excel versions. When I edit them and save them as a different
name and in 2007 format it generally works (occasionally I get the "fidelity"
issue). The directory these files are in is shared, and no one else has
these files open. It'll save normally, then occasionally I'll get a file
sharing error and it'll want me to open the temporary file it created to
save. If I hit no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no (exaggerating), I can then
just hit the save button and it'll work fine. It loses the work if I close
Excel and it wants to save and this error comes up. If I save it before I
close and hit no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no ;) and then close Excel it'll
be fine.
I just turned off file sharing in hopes it'll cut the crap. ;) Just
wondering if anyone has seen this before.
