I'm trying to set up a new spreadsheet for some forest calcuations.

When I utilize a simple quotient formula I get a rounded number.

=QUOTIENT(G47,E5)

The answer it gives me is 106

However, I need it to say 106.777

I will then utilize that number in another formula and so on for about 10 more equations. The decimal places get longer as the equations go on, so I need excel to not round any of them.

I've tried the formatting cells>numbers but all that gives me is the rounded number with a bunch of zeros. 106.000000.

help plz!

You should use =G47/E5 instead. Using the QUOTIENT formula is rounding the result to an integer value so it doesn't have the decimals in the value that it outputs. In Excel, there is a very large difference between formatting to show decimals and actually including them in the values. Using straight up division of the cells will allow you keep the decimals throughout.
