Ok. Well, this isn't going to be an Outlook issue, but, lets see if we
can't help you figure out who to talk to to try to get this fixed.
First, lets explain why the error is happening, or, specifically, what the
error is talking about.
When you send an email message on the Internet, a protocol called SMTP is
used to get the message from your machine to the recipients machine. In
order to this, the message will generally be handed from one mail server to
another. As a server is given the message, it adds a line to the header of
the message to say, in plain speak, I, Machine X at Address Y, received this
message from Machine Z at Address A on Date/Time. Each server will add that
line to the header.
Now, what the server in australia is complaining about is that there are too
many Received headers on the message it is getting. This could be
indicative of a spam, or a bouncing message, or some other problem.
Outlook itself isn't likely the cause of the problem. Something after you
submit the message to your server and the .au server is the likely cause,
but I'd be curious:
If this is a POP/IMAP server: If you fire up Outlook Express, or any other
*local* POP3 client (not a web based client), and connect to the same ISP
account, do you get the same problem?
If this is a Hotmail account that you're connecting to via web based mail in
your profile, what happens if you do it via the hotmail website?
If this is an Exchange account, talk to your Exchange admin and show them
the problem.
As for who to talk to... usually, when this failed delivery status
notification gets sent, it includes the headers. Did yours? If it did, can
you share them?
