Event Viewer (system log) not displaying any events...

We are running Windows 2000 SP4 on one of our servers. FOr some reason this
server is not showing the events being logged in the "system" log! If I
clear the log file, no problem, I will start to see the events. However
currently the "system log" is showing a total # of events present of 2,659
when refreshed, but does not list the actual events! The view pane is
blank!

Thsi happens all the time. Is this a known issue? If so, is there a fix?

Thanks,

Brad

You could try to download EventSentry Light (freeware) from
http://www.netikus.net which has a built-in event viewer. It might work
better OR give you a better error message. Or you can look for other tools
out there that display the event log to rule out whether it's a problem with
MS event viewer or the actual event log.
