Event Viewer has stopped logging...

I just noticed that there are no new entries in Event Viewer, for the past 5 days, in
Application or System.
I checked that error reporting is on, in System Properties-Advanced, which it is.
And the Error Reporting Service is on (Automatic).

I like to check it periodically, so this is strange.

Any ideas, or a way to reset the settings, so it starts again?

Any help is appreciated... thanks!!!

Go to Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Services, and make sure the
Event Log service is Started and set to Automatic.

The default size limit for any of the event log files (Application,
System, etc) is 512KB. This is adjustable. When the size limit of a
log is reached, the default setting is to overwrite events older than 7
days. If that setting was changed on your system, it might be set to
"Do not overwrite events" in which case you would have to manually clear
the logs to get logging restarted.

Open Event Viewer, right-click Application in the left pane and click
Properties on the menu that appears.
Check the max size and check which setting you have.
Do the same with the other logs....System, Security, AV, IE.

If they are not set to the default, reset them. There is a Restore
Defaults button.
In each of those properties sheets, there is also a button to clear the
log, which you can try for each log.

If you want to save the old logs before clearing them, right-click each
log and click "Save log file as..."
