I'm working on a Dell:
Service Tag-5B7X721
NIC-Intel 10/100 LOM (on board)
BIOS-A01
I've reloaded XP Home (clean) and the Ethernet Controller can't find a
driver. The documentation CD's don't seem to have it. All I find on the Dell
site is the driver for the NIC. Since the controller won't load (because of
no driver), the NIC is not listed in Device Manager. Shouldn't the
controller driver be a Windows item or is it proprietary to Dell?
Consequently, I can't connect to the net to finish the install. Any thoughts
appreciated!

TIA,
DTV

You need a driver from Dell!

Load the NIC driver from the Dell web site . . .
