System Error

I have a Dell Dimension with on-board NIC. I was having network problems and
added a new Linksys 10/100 NIC. All of a sudden I started getting the Windows
error screen indicating the system had recovered from an error. When I click
to find out more about the error I get a screen that tells me the problem was
caused by a 10/100 Ethernet Adapter (an983.sys) by Infineon - AMDTek. I have
two choices:
- Run Windows Update
- Fo to Infineon - AMDTek web site and up drivers

I've done both, Windows Update finds nothing. I went to Infineon website and
downloaded AN983 drivers and ran Update Drives from Device Mgr on Linksys
card since that is the one I just installed - no reference in Network Adapter
section about an Infineon AMDTek NIC. I point the update to the folder
containing the Infineon driver but it does not update apparently because this
is wrong driver.

Any help in fixing this problem will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in
advance.
