errors in .pst files, Outlook 2003

Norton Internet Security 2006 crashed and has caused errors opening some
files in the >PST file for Outlook 2003.. Fix and repair does NOT fix this
issue
The error message is the following:
"Cannot add Outlook- Specific information to the Store. the operation
failed. an opject could not be found.
It will not allow me to import a back up copy of the .pst file either

Have you tried disabling Norton (which should be shot for their shoddy
coding that causes oh so many Outlook problems!) and then running
scanpst.exe against your .pst(s) file(s)?
