errors copying file from XP Pro to XP Home

Hi everyone,

I have a problem that I can't seem to get to the bottom of. I have a PC
running XP Professional and a laptop running XP home. I've got a folder
shared out from the PC that I can see from the laptop. Within the
folder there are many folders and files. I'm able to copy every folder
and file from the PC to the laptop by drag/drop using windows explorer.
BUT a couple of files do not copy. When copying, windows says:

"Cannot copy file1.doc: Access is denied
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is
not currently in use."

I've plenty of space and the file isn't open. In fact I've tried
copying following a clean boot of both PC and laptop.

What's strange and may be a pointer to someone is that if I share a
folder from my laptop, I can copy the file from the PC to the laptop
into this folder. i.e. I can push the file from the PC to the laptop,
but I can't pull the file from the PC to the laptop.

I would try something like Unlocker (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
), which I was pointed at, but want to fix the underlying issue.

Hope someone has come across this before?

Thanks in advance
