I have a COMPAQ PC but i'am receiving a error messages.

The messages that I'm receiving is that I need to open a pages like
www.regdoc32.com or www.msreg.com, I think that the problem is with the
regedit file but I'm not sure.

I don't know why I'm receiving this error, I mean, what was the cause?

I need to know how I can solve this problem because I reinstall OS but the
messages is still appearing in the machine

I think this messages is appearing every time that I open a Internet
session, but I'm not sure.

Make sure a firewall is turned on. And you need to disable or remove the
Messenger service.

[[If advertisements are opening on your computer in a window titled

should enable the Internet Connection Firewall and disable the Messenger
Service in Windows XP to help protect your computer from unwanted spam and
other potential threats.

administrators to notify Windows users about their networks. However, some
advertisers have started using this service to send information via the
Internet, and these messages could be used maliciously to distribute a

Hi Wesley

Thanks for your answer and I apologize for the delay to give you and update.

I hace a question for you. The OS that I had installed in the machine is
Windows Xp Home Edition but I never install the SP1 and SP2. Finally I
install both SP and It looks that the problem is gone

Unfortunaly I didn'y apply your recomendation because I spend a lot of time
installing the SP because I'm working with a Modem with 56KB; the connection
is very slowly. Do you think that after apply this SP the problem was
corrected or wil be necesary to apply your recomendation after all?

Thanks for you patients, best regards,
Sofia

Hi Sofia,

SP2 disables the Messenger Service and automatically turns the XP firewall
on. So that's already done. ;-)

By the way you only had to install SP2, it includes SP1. Nice to know that
now, huh?

Have fun.
