Hi, it seems that we were having a few networking problems, getting
disconnected etc. computers performance very slow.. so my brother took it
upon himself to re-install windows xp. Ok so he restarted windows, using disc
started installing the software thinking it was going to install over the
existing.. somehow managed to form a seperate partition, which failed.. then
he tried again with some success, so now we have two partitions one that wont
start up and the other will start up but we are having no end of trouble.. u
name it!. missing drivers, only able to connect to internet through internet
explorer for short periods of time before getting an error message saying
'system failure, windows will shut down in 60 seconds' is there any way of
undoing all of this? my knowledge is basic and cant handle all of these
problems!!! please help!!!

When you boot to the setup CD, and press ENTER for setup, it shows you the
EULA agreement screen. Right after that, it will find the installs you have,
and let you choose (Probably by pressing '1' or '2') the install you want to
'repair'
Trying a repair on the original install was what he wanted to do in the
first place.
